Since the question about Mac security has been going around lately, Rebecca Freed decided to uncover some truth on the subject at the recent Macworld. Her investigations led her to a number of vendors, including MacScan, ClamXAV, Little Snitch and others. The conclusion is a common sense one: no, the Mac is not invulnerable, and yes, a dram of protection probably wouldn’t hurt. In summary: OS X’s built-in firewall and ClamXAV — in. MacScan and Little Snitch — out. What solutions do you have in place to keep the nasties off your Mac?
